REFLECTION
Throughout the journey of my Design Research dissertation, I am very proud and satisfied with my overall outcomes. From the beginning of the Design research methodology, it seemed to be very challenging and a struggle for me as a person who preferred reading over writing after a long period of designing and illustrating on the digital screen. I admit that the overall adventure was a challenge for me, especially the dissertation paper. In reality, even though the word count or the page count was not a big issue, I am very proud of myself for completing a 30,000-word dissertation. I would often joke with my peers from other courses, saying, "Can you imagine? Because I didn't want to write 3,000 words in Mass Communication, I transferred to design and ended up writing a 3,000-word dissertation paper!" HAHA. Quite strange. Although the journey was painful and "headache", I was very satisfied and considered them valuable, especially when Dr. Hayati praised the solidity of my dissertation paper. What I can conclude from the module is that it is very efficient for a design student to write and think, which stimulates problem-solving skills and engages the brain beyond just design, design, and design. However, if you were to ask me what I was writing and what motivated me to go through with it, I don't know, maybe it was the deadline and the midnight spirit! But, hooray! No more research papers again. Cheers! 🍺✨
